Gizi Travel Maps of Asia, Africa, & Eastern Europe

GiziMap produces a superb series of geographic and road maps for Asia, the Silk Road, numerous Central Asia republics, and several eastern European countries. These are offered in two formats which use the same base political, geographic, and road information:
Geographic Map: With elevation shading, shaded relief, and spot heights. The elevation shading gives better and easier to read elevation information, but makes the roads and place names a bit harder to read against the more colorful background.
Road or political Map: Without the elevation shading, but with shaded relief and spot heights. The lack of elevation shading makes the place names and roads stand out against the background and thus are easier to read.
Details contained in both map types: The maps show main roads, railways, shipping routes and airports. Distances between road intersections are shown on the map, as are mountain passes with their elevation. National parks and main administrative boundaries are shown and symbols tourist sites and services as campsites, winter sport resorts and historical monuments. Geographic and terrain features such as glaciers, salt lakes, lava flows and sandy areas are also highlighted. Typically an index of place names is on the the reverse of the map. Map language is typically in English, Hungarian, and the local language, such as Tibetan, Chinese, or Arabic.
